I feel like I’m cheating on this Finished Object Friday. You see, I wouldn’t consider this little gem to be quite finished yet. It still needs buttons. And it really could use a good washing and blocking to straighten all the stitches out. But somebody was excited when I said it was hers and she couldn’t wait to put it on. Ok, I admit. Mama was a bit excited too and really wanted to see her model it.
Don’t you just love the “strike a pose” attitude?!
I ended up making the cardigan a little long. Partially because I wasn’t paying attention, just kept knitting, and all of a sudden I was a full inch past where I needed to stop. I didn’t want to rip out what I had just done … besides, which Little Chick growing as much as she is, it’ll be better to have it longer.
That caused a problem though. I still had the collar and the sleeves left to knit and only a small ball of yarn left over. I think I might have been ok because the sleeves didn’t use up as much as I expected, but even so, I took Papa’s advice and used white to make the collar and sleeve cuffs. I love how it turned out!
