A visit with Susan B. Anderson

a visit with Susan B Anderson

Yesterday I snuck out of work early to help my mother set up for a rummage sale this weekend.  My parents are in the process of moving to a slightly smaller location – and about half the distance closer to us.  It was a hot and humid day (nothing new), but we got most of the tables organized before dinner.

Then we took a nice break, drove up the river to Winona and attended a book signing by Susan B. Anderson.  Susan was warm and friendly and oh-so-cute in her conversation.  You can read more about her trip in her post To Winona and Back.  She was there to promote and sign her new book Topsy-Turvy Inside-Out Knit Toys.

I love Susan’s patterns!  So far I’ve only made one – the Elephant pattern finished last month.  I already owned the Spud & Chloe at the Farm book but I picked up two other books and Mom bought her latest book.  We should be set for projects for the next year!  Not only did we get our books autographed, but Susan let me snag a picture with her (Susan – I hope it’s ok to show this!).

By the way, if you’re ever in the Winona, Minnesota area, I highly recommend making a stop at yarnology.  They are pretty easy to find – just head downtown on 3rd St.

An unexpected advantage to taking our early-evening fiber break?  When we got back to the house the temperatures had dropped so it wasn’t quite so awful in the garage.
