Note: I hope none of my family and friends are offended that I haven’t featured them yet. This list is not in order of importance – it’s very random and there are still 22 days left for me to get a post written about you 🙂
I thought it was fitting to be thankful for my place of employment – as it is payday today!

Every weekday I get up, leave my home and family, and head to this building. I’ve worked here since January 1999 … it’s hard to believe I’m coming up to my 15th anniversary soon. I’ve never worked anywhere else for this length of time!
As some of you may know I’m a systems analyst. Actually, as of September, my full title is “Senior Systems Analyst / Project Manager”. Which is a fancy way of saying that I’m supposed to be spending very little time programming and most of my time designing how projects are supposed to flow as well as assigning and managing our entire list of projects.
In other companies with IS/IT departments, it is very common to work lots of overtime, be on-call frequently and for all hours of the day. I’m very fortunate to work for a company where overtime and off-hour working is limited and I’m only on-call for a few evening hours (usually up to 10 pm) on a five-week rotation.
My employment and salary is such that it allows Papa to stay at home with Little Chick – where I know she’s being well cared for.
What are you thankful for on this fine, fall day?
