I’ve learned a couple of things in this 30-day journey. One is that I certainly have a lot to be thankful for. There are other people, places, and things I could have listed here – and maybe I’ll come back and revisit them later.
The other thing I’ve learned is what I’m grateful for today. That is photographs. If you think back to our grandparents and great-grandparents and how few photographs we have of them. Today it’s so easy to take and store pictures digitally – with small cameras and cell phones. I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s difficult to take too many photographs. (Ok, maybe the guy that took 400-some photos of our Christmas one year was a bit excessive).
Photos can show us how quickly children grow from year to year.
It can remind us of family members that are no longer with us.
We can remember holidays past.
It can capture when people are being silly.
We can be reminded of special times and activities with family members.
Not to mention the journaling of long-distance trips.
